GYXTC8S/GYXTA Optical Fiber Cable
The structure of the GYXTC8S optical cable involves placing 250µm optical fibers into loose tubes made of high modulus material, with the loose tubes filled with a waterproof compound. The cable core consists of a central metallic strength member. Loose tubes (and filler rods) are stranded around the central strength member to form a compact and circular cable core, with the gaps in the core filled with water-blocking material. An inner polyethylene sheath is extruded over the cable core. A corrugated steel tape armor is applied over the inner sheath, and then a polyethylene outer sheath is extruded to form the final cable structure. The entire cable is supported by a steel wire messenger, which is an integral part of the cable design to provide aerial installation capability.
